G & A Valves International supplies butterfly, ball, and check valves — plus spare parts and actuation — to commercial and industrial buyers across the United States and the Gulf region. Below is how each industry uses our products.

1Water & Wastewater Treatment

Treatment plants run some of the largest valve counts of any facility type: raw-water intake, coagulation, filtration, disinfection, sludge handling, and distribution pumping. The workhorse is the resilient-seated butterfly valve — bubble-tight shutoff, low purchase cost, and simple maintenance make it the default isolation valve from DN50 to DN600.

  • Isolation: wafer, lug, and flanged butterfly valves with EPDM seats for chlorinated water service.
  • Backflow prevention: swing and tilting-disc check valves on pump discharge to prevent water hammer when pumps trip.
  • Chemical dosing: PTFE-seated ball valves in stainless steel for aggressive dosing chemicals.
  • Why it matters: municipal and utility buyers purchase on repeat cycles — the same seat and disc part numbers, year after year. Ask us about spares availability for repeat rebuild programs.

2HVAC & MEP (Commercial Buildings)

Commercial HVAC systems — chilled water, heating hot water, condenser water — need reliable isolation and balancing across hundreds of valves per building. MEP contractors spec lug butterfly valves for dead-end service at equipment (chillers, pumps, air handlers) and wafer butterfly valves for line isolation, with brass ball valves on smaller branch circuits.

  • Chilled-water isolation: lug butterfly valves, EPDM seats, gearbox operators on DN250+.
  • Balancing: ask us about balancing-valve options for branch takeoffs.
  • Actuation: electric actuation with 4–20 mA feedback can support BMS integration — ask about compatible options for your system.
  • Why it matters: contractors work to submittal deadlines. We provide sizing assistance, material selection, and documentation support to help you pass engineer review — ask what submittal documentation we can provide for your project.

3Oil & Gas (Commercial Operations Only)

For commercial oil and gas facilities — refineries, terminals, petrochemical plants, fuel distribution — we supply valves for utility and process auxiliary systems: cooling water, fire water, plant air, and non-critical process isolation.

  • Utility isolation: resilient and double-offset butterfly valves on cooling-water and fire-water headers.
  • Tight shutoff: trunnion ball valves for on/off isolation where bubble-tight sealing is required.
  • Actuation: pneumatic spring-return actuation for fail-safe positioning on air supply — ask about available configurations.

4Marine (Commercial Vessels)

Commercial ships — cargo, tanker, offshore support — carry extensive seawater and freshwater systems: ballast, bilge, cooling water, and fire mains. Butterfly valves dominate these systems for their light weight and compact face-to-face dimensions; check valves protect pumps against reverse flow.

  • Ballast and bilge: resilient-seated butterfly valves, wafer or lug pattern.
  • Cooling water: EPDM seats for water service, NBR where oil or fuel contamination is possible.
  • Fire mains: marine fire-main service requires class-society type-approved valves (DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS, or Bureau Veritas) — ask us about approved options for your project.

5UAE & Gulf Markets

The Gulf's construction and infrastructure sectors — desalination plants, district cooling networks, high-rise MEP, and industrial zones — run on international standards and expect documentation to match. Buyers spec to API, BS EN, and AWWA standards and require mill test certificates with material traceability.

  • Desalination: large-diameter butterfly valves on intake, brine, and product-water lines; seawater service typically calls for duplex or super duplex stainless steels or nickel-aluminum bronze trim — ask about available materials for your project.
  • District cooling: butterfly and ball valves across chilled-water distribution networks serving entire city districts.
  • Construction / MEP: the same contractor-driven valve schedules as US commercial construction, with submittal documentation in English.
  • Why it matters: Gulf projects reward suppliers who deliver complete documentation packages and reliable lead times. Ask about documentation and logistics options for delivery to the region.
